Ramón Hodridge is a Dallas native and the son of Earnest and Deborah Hodridge. In 1998, Ramón attended Southwestern Christian College where he received his associate degree in Political Science in 2000. He went on to receive his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Abilene Christian University. With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Ramón continued his pursuit for higher learning by receiving a M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of North Texas in Denton. He is presently working on his Ed.D. in Supervision, Curriculum, and Instruction in Higher Education from Texas A&M Commerce.
Ringing true the lyrics to his alma mater’s song, Southwestern I’ll Remember, Ramón returned to serve as Director of Admission, Retention and International Student Affairs from 2002–2009. With a love for helping the community and assisting in making a positive impact on the lives of youth, he served as a Case Worker, Supervisor and with Child Protection Services/Our Community Our Kids from 2016–2022. Ramón’s undeniable love for education has led him to his most recent position as the Fellows Manager for the 10KSB Program at Dallas College.
Giving back is embedded in Ramón’s DNA and he has demonstrated it by currently serving on the Board of Trustees for Southwestern Christian College, as chairman for the National Youth Conference of the Churches of Christ, as parliamentarian for Dallas Youth for Christ, as a board member with the Plano African American Museum, and as the CEO of AFFECT, Inc.
Despite all his accomplishments, Ramón’s first love is for God and ministering to His people. Prior to accepting the role of ministering evangelist at Lawrence and Marder on May 18 of this year, Ramón served as minister of the 17th and Mesquite Church of Christ in Abilene, TX in 2002. The Lord then called him to serve as ministering evangelist at the Avenue F Church of Christ in Plano from 2006–2018. Ramón went on to heed the master’s call by serving as ministering evangelist at the Church at Plano from 2018–2022.
Ramón’s faith was tested when he was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in 2019. Despite the prognosis, the prayers of the righteous prevailed much. When man said “no,” Ramón placed his dependence on God, and now 3 years later, he remains a faithful servant of the Most High.
Even with all his accomplishments, the one Ramón is most proud of is the title “Daddy.” He is the proud father of one son, Rashad Hodridge, who is the apple of his eye. Ramón’s love for and devotion to Rashad is unquestionable and unparalleled. His role of father has even strengthened his relationship with God because he more deeply understands unconditional love, and he is excited and honored for the opportunity to continue ushering others into God’s loving arms.
